Here Is How You Can Support Our Projects
Donations
Monetary – We currently accept check and credit card donations through an online service called Pay Pal. Since we are recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization, all monetary donations should be tax deductible. Please be sure to check with your tax accountant.

Computer donations – A lot of people and businesses have stepped up to the plate to donate computers and miscellaneous equipment, which in turn we distribute to other non-profits, people with disabilities, youth, and families. We ask that you provide equipment that is in working condition only. Please contact us with brand name, model number, licenses (if applicable), etc and we’ll let you know if we can accept it and make arrangements for pick up or drop off.

Volunteers
– By volunteering your time and skills, we can work together to provide a service that will benefit all involved. We can use helpers in a variety of areas. We give a broad overview below, in the ‘Volunteer Opportunities’. If you see something we don’t list, it doesn’t necessarily mean we don’t need it. Give us a call and we’ll discuss how you can best help us.

Sponsor a Family
– Our Family Connect program costs us approximately $600 per family to provide job skills training and resources for families. If you’d like to sponsor a family, we can put you in touch with them and if you desire, let you meet the people you’re helping. We’ve had many families that are so grateful that someone would think of helping them. We encourage participation in activities, graduations, etc or you can remain anonymous. The choice is yours.

Sponsor a Child – We provide youth an opportunity to access technology through our ‘Tech 4 Teens’ program. This program costs about $250 per student for training, overhead, refurbished computer, etc. As with the ‘Sponsor a Family’ option, we encourage interaction with the people you help or remain anonymous. Again, we would utilize your donation in the manner which makes you feel the most comfortable.
Volunteer Opportunities

Technical support team—Join our network of computer-savvy volunteers who assist recipient groups in learning how to use computers and troubleshooting computer problems. Work over the internet from your home and/or with other local technical volunteers to help people realize their computer training goals.

Translation team—Looking for something socially responsible to do with your fluency in Spanish, or other language? Translate our materials into a language that can be understood by our clients or partners.

Public Relations and Community Outreach team—Help MEWF’s work reach a wider audience. Write press releases, educate the public about MEWF at information tables and speaking events, contact the media, and/or work in online communities to promote our work to the widest possible audience.

Financial Affairs team
—No good work is possible without people behind the scenes to keep an organization going. Help us with bookkeeping, accounting or fundraising.

Driving team
—Provide a vital service to MEWF’s work by picking up donated computer equipment within Wake County and delivering it to MEWF storage sites.
